The Gods have arrived.

This is only a portion of the chariot and horses. It is beautiful. Found in the center of one of the busiest intersections in Jakarta.

Good posture

These are seen all over the streets. The old and young enjoy riding these lifted handbars. Not a good picture. Taken out of the car window.

The torch in the background supposedly is the tallest monument in the world.

The decoration in front lights up at night and gives a Christmas season feeling  year round.  There are many of these throughout Jakarta streets.

This is not the Gateway but the center of Jakarta on Sunday

People enjoying time together. It makes for a great day as a family. Usually these folks are busy working.

What a Cute Lady

Typical to wear masks for pollution.

Sunday Rides on Main Street

Sunday morning until 10:00 a.m. bikers, joggers, walkers have the right away. It is so cool because everyone is out exercising on roads that by 10:01 will be packed with cars, bajaj, becaks, ojecks and other nondescript transportation.
And we are going to church!

Another view of the Statute of the Children

I think this statute is a salute to hope, vibrance, and dedication. If only....

The Gatekeeper

I hope this nice fellow is in charge of the Pearly Gates. Every Sunday he directs traffic so we can pull out of our complex. He waves, smiles, and salutes as we drive away.

John's Friends: Bono-our driver, Abish-Zimbabwe, and Patrick-Nigeria.

Men at the beach. We spent the day together seeing the crocodiles, the beach, and enjoying friendships.

Brother Martoyo is a real character as you can tell.

He is very artistic. He enjoys life and makes everyone laugh. He is our driver, Bono's, brother.

Proud Dad.

Lots of beauty in this face.

The Many Faces of Indonesia

A fisherman on the warf.  Bet he could tell some stories. He helped bring in a boat load of squid. The squid are as long as a piece of salmon or halibut you buy in the store.

Come See Indonesia From Our Eyes

Another year- 2010. Great adventures await. Family is great. And soon this year will be over too.
