Girls Trip!

The two princesses out on the town.

Pretty Well Says It!

Wild West Show-Outstanding

Blood, fire, cowboys falling from buildings, men drowning in the water trough, arrows being shot-killing, vulture flies in, goats and lambs running all over, chickens come in on cue, rats running on railings, water blown all over the audience-drenched, what a show! Wild West Indo Style!

We met some Relatives in Indonesia. They have lived here a long time.

Safari trip Indo Style was very fun. The animals just roamed around on the streets while we drove the car. Then there was the best wild west show we have ever seen. Sorry Vernal, you need to improve your summer shows.

Dad discussing the Gospel with an investigator.

He is excited about the discussions and will come to church this Sunday if he can get a ride.

All Moms love their babies-no matter how homely they are.

Whip Wailing Wild West John

Showing skills with a whip turned out to be a risky proposition-red welt on the arm.

Lion and Lioness resting 25 feet from us.

Beautiful white cat walked across the street in front of the car.

I guess I have been replaced. They are in love!

Love at first bite or hopefully not!

Elder Anderson sharing the left over carrots with Dad.

Tenderizing his meat before the kill.

This Leopard fell in love with Dad. He just wanted to get right on his lap and have his ears scratched.

Seems like years since this picture was taken at the MTC

Little did we know. Indo is a great place for peoples' smiles, beautiful scenery, and heat. It is not so good for traffic and smells.

School Children on a field trip to Bogabudor

They think the Bulahs are pretty funny-I think we are too. They laugh at us a lot. We smile back. They have the cutest faces. Of course, there are always the little mischievous boys in the back that you could take home. We actually were up where Allah lives- very high-wonder if this is as close as some of us will get to Heaven?

Batik shirts are the going thing over here.

Our field trip to Bogobudor with Zone Conference in Solo. Bogobudor is a Buddhist Sanctuary. Lots of stairs but so much better than Jakarta traffic. We had a great day with the missionaries. But oh my, the Hawkers were alive and well. (Villagers that sell their wares to all the weak-knee-ed touristos.) Yes, I bought a dress and three fans. Couldn't resist their beautiful brown skin and loving eyes!

You won't believe this one. We are actually on the radio. The DJ is in front of John. The Mongan family some way conned us into this good deal.

We talked about our wonderful family at home. The DJ asked who were the hardest to raise, the two, boys or girls. John said the girls because they are princesses. They asked me about our family life and I just said we worked hard and played harder. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The Mongan's are like the Osmonds-sing, perform. They are a really fun family.

Outside our Cottage

We have a grounds keeper- still can't pronounce his name, Suman- our beloved housekeeper and ironer, Bono-the 'fish' driver, and us-the lazy Americans. We are treated most kindly and so appreciate the help.
The men from Lembang gave us strawberry plants a month ago. Look what showed up. We are so proud of our little Friend. Looked forward to eating it but the ants got it first. Have more coming, though so will be faster on the draw. What should we fertilize it with, Dad?

US Embassy-Walter North

Well, this was an interesting meeting.  We waited for an hour to get in, they confiscated all we had, begged for our camera to take a picture. Asked for help with deliveries to Indonesia from America, and got no where. But that sounds familiar, right!

Come See Indonesia From Our Eyes

Another year- 2010. Great adventures await. Family is great. And soon this year will be over too.
